Some are re newels others are new members. They are, Randy Adamson and family, Richard Smith, Bob and Lawrence Symalla, Don, Diane and Jonathon Brown, Denzil Burnham, Billy and Kathy Chrisley and Don and Dennis Shepan. Our membership is now eighty (80) and we need more of you to re new your membership or join for the first time. We all welcome you in! I would like to personally thank those of you who have responded to our need for donations to the "Friends Of The Mesilla Valley Radio Club". We will be adding to our plaque soon, the names of those who have donated. As a reminder, plan on coming out on the 24th of April to support our Bean Feed and encourage those hams within your circle of friends to attend also. We are expecting good weather, (I've promised no wind until mid afternoon). Also, if you can lend a hand with some of the tasks to be done, see Cash Olsen and volunteer to help. If you have items that you would like to donate to the club for re sale at the bean feed, contact John Hemfling at 373-1166 or Bob Bennett at 382-0148 if you need to arrange pick up of those items. For those interested, a group of us will meet at the Village Inn on Telshore for breakfast on the morning of the bean feed at 6:00 a.m. This has become a tradition and one that some think should be continued, see ya there if you can make it! We plan on starting an operations day next month. This will give those an oppertunity to get on the air who either do not have a station or those Technicians without priviledges on HF. I am looking for volunteers to open the club house and to assist those interested in getting on the air to do so. If this interests you, give me a call at 526-9428 and let's talk. A special thanks from all of us to Alex Burr (K5XY) for his continuing efforts in the production of our Local Oscillator and to all others who unselfishly support all the activities of our club. MAY PROGRAM KD5ZHI The next speaker at the business meeting May 7th will be Billy Chrisley. The topic will be wire antennas. This should be a good topic because many people have limited space and need good antennas. Also they are not very obvious like a tower and a beam. I look forward to seeing many of you at the bean feed. This is our big one. If you can donate any equipment or time please contact Cash Olsen KD5SSJ. Thanks every one for your support. I am looking forward to the future. CW GROUP K5DI This Group meets every first Monday of the month at 7PM at the MVRC Clubhouse. The purpose of the Group is to get people who like CW together. It is OK to like SSB and other things too. We talk about ways to get your CW speed up and nice CW radios. We can do many things like install antennas or fix things. Exchange ideas. So if this sounds interesting show up next month. By the way, if the night driving bothers you let me know and we can bring you and take you home.
